Brrr...I hope everyone was able to stay warm this past weekend! I am looking forward to a great week ahead. Here is what is happening this week in room 34.
Mr. Brian Wyss, the middle school band director, will be back tomorrow to work with each student to see what instrument they would be best at, if they choose band in middle school.
Science- We will be studying the inner and outer planets this week.
Writing- Students will be revising, editing, and celebrating their 1st memoir this week! Completed memoirs will be due Wednesday for our celebration. These do not have to be typed. We will then move to our second memoir.
Math- Our chapter 8 "quiz" (since this is a shorter chapter we are calling it a quiz rather than a test) is on Wednesday. Our next chapter will be on adding and subtracting fractions.
Reading- We will wrap up our unit on social issues this week, focusing on bringing our reading lenses to the world. All of our literature book clubs should be finished by this Friday.
Social Studies- We will finish up our study on Martin Luther King Jr. We will also continue studying the first English settlements in America.
Reminders:
Please turn in field trip form for next Tuesday, we are off to the Sheldon.
