This week we are taking this quote and putting it into practice. We are preparing for MAP with our "MAP Intense Week". Each day students will travel to the other 5th grade classrooms to review reading, writing, math, and science topics. They are LOVING this taste of moving from teacher to teacher, a taste of Middle School. Image result for rainy spring

Welcome Back! I hope everyone enjoyed their week off! I loved hearing about all the spring break adventures! Stay dry this week!

Science- We are continuing our study on body systems- their structures and functions.

Math- Our chapter 11 test on measurement will be next Tuesday, April 3. We will be working on converting metric measurements this week and will begin reviewing on Thursday.  Ask you child to sing to you the metric song. Students should also be working on ALEKS at home (at least 20 min. each week). Ask your student what our new 4th quarter ALEKS goal is!

The Metric Song

Milli, Centi, Deci, meter
Deka, hecto, kilo, too
Put them with a gram and liter
That is all you have to do

Milli is the smallest measure
Ten of these a centi makes
One hundred centis make a unit
That’s not very hard to take

Liters measure only liquid
Grams measure weight or mass
Meters measure length or distance
You can go to the head of the class

*To the tune of Reuben, Reuben

Writing- Students will be working on their DARE essays this week. Ask your child to show you their progress on the Google Classroom.
