Early Release
Wednesday will be our first Early Release Day. Please make sure you have communicated with your child on how they will be getting home.

Spirit Day

In honor of LHS Homecoming this weekend we will have a green and gold spirit day on Thursday!

Science We will be performing our paper towel and  paper airplane investigations. We are learning how true scientist use the Scientific Method to answer a testable question.

Writing- We are completing our first personal narrative this week. We will be working on revisions that will include adding scenes from the past/future, working on our leads/endings, and beginning to publish!

Reading- Our study on book clubs starts this week with a focus on interpretations of theories and what the text is truly about. We will be working on having meaningful, supportive, and thoughtful book club discussions. They are going beyond summarizing what they read, instead they are  focusing on what is the life lesson to be learned from the text

Math- Today, chapter one test will go home and I could not be more proud of our mathematicians in room 34!!  They put forth so much brain power on this test, I was blown away! We began chapter two, multiplying whole numbers,  and this week will cover prime factorization, powers & exponents, multiplication patterns, and problem solving!

Social Studies- We are discovering what the principals of government are expressed in the Declaration of Independence.

Every morning as we gather on the rug for our morning meeting,  we are building a classroom community in which every voice is heard and respected. Each day my excitement for teaching sparks with every smile that greets me, I am so lucky to have such a vibrant and caring class. They are the reason why I LOVE my job:) Have a great week!
