12/19

Today we had a field trip to the Nursing home to go Caroling. When we came back we went to music. And then we had our pizza party and we watched Mickey's Christmas. Also we had our writers Celebration, and we wrote good things about each writing that we read. Our only home work is to work on our PRISM. We have to write 4 questions and answer them. After that we write two to four paragraphs about the research we did. Tomorrow we have a party so children can bring a drink, and a snack, and recommend a movie to watch during home run club. Also we have our Christmas party so parents can bring snacks and plates and all that Christmas stuff.

Tomorrow we have a math test over chapters 12 and 13. On Wednesday we need to bring a drink and on Wednesday we are also going caroling. Today we reviewed our math in s.s we talked about new England's every day life and In science we worked on our prism projects. Don't forget you need a clean notebook to write prism stuff in In reading mrs. Turek met with small groups then in writing we talked about summarizing !!!!!!!!!!!!!:) Our narrative is due Wednesday.

Hello! Today was a fun day! In math, we have 13.1 for homework odds only. In social studies, we are learning about New England Colonies. In science, we have to finish a fun crossword puzzle! We also had art today. Also, be sure to finish your writing so that you can make another great book! See you later!

Anyway, we have no homework but If you did not finish your brochure please finish it over the weekend it is due on Monday.

Today in math we learned about transformations. Our math test will be this Friday. In social studies we went over our study guide, the test is Thursday. And today we went to the book fair to pick out some books. In writing we were talking about editing and revising. REMEMBER tomorrow we have early release and we get out 1:45. We also had a good day today at school.

Hello! Today was a fun day! In math, we did stations. There were games, a project which was where we had to make shapes that were symmetrical and ones that were not. In social studies, we worked on our brochures. In science, the class turned in a prism project worksheet, and worked on our animal PowerPoint. We had recess, and after lunch, and lit groups met. We celebrated our great work for the month with the Homerun Club Party! Have a great weekend!

Today in Mrs.Turek's class we continued our social studies study guides and brochures to advertise our own towns/cities from the olden days. We worked on our scientific studies on the 5 continent's animals and we also researched many unique animals for our animal classification project. In math we did centers, math mobiles, and learned all kinds of different congruent and similar shapes. In art we continued our flower project (Chihuly inspired) were we tried to create a plastic water bottle flowers with sharpies and different materials. At lunch we had Cates birthday treats (Happy b-day Cate). At daily 5we read our wonderful book Theo Boone kid lawyer and added on to our C-A-F-E chart and finally we added some touches to our personal narratives . Wow, we had a great day

Today in math we got to do centers and one of the centers was to make a flip book of regular and irregular polygons. In social studies we worked on our "Create a Colony" brochure and our study guide. In science we worked on our power point that is on animals around the world. We changed the date for the social studies test to December 6th.

Today in math we did centers. For social studies we have a study guide that is due December 4 and the test will be December 5 and also we are making a colony brochure. for science we are working on a power point and also having a prism entry form due 11/28/12. Then after lunch we had daily 5. Don't forget to read your assigned chapters for your lit group and your cold read!! In writing we are revising our rough drafts. Today we learned about lines and angles. Next we did Social Studies and we got a study guide due Dec 3rd. After that we had Math. After Math we had Science. In Science we talked about Animal kingdoms , kind of amphibians, reptiles, fish, mammals, and birds . We also watched videos to figure out the difference between reptiles and amphibians. After Science we had Gym . In Gym we played charades and other games. After that we went to Lunch and ate. Then we went to recess and played. Next we read or wrote while the teacher met for Evaluate. And finally we wrote our personal narratives. Homework for today is the cold read due Friday , Math worksheet (20.1) all and no mixed review, and study guide due Dec 3rd.

Today we have reached 280 products for Adopt-A-Family and have earned an electronics party, which will be next Tuesday! In math we reviewed for our test that will be on Tuesday ( we will review Monday also). Our spelling contracts and test will be due on Tuesday. Today in math we learned about the distributive property and how and when we use it.In social studies we shared our thumbnail sketches to our group and read about the puritans,and we made t charts comparing the pilgrims and the puritans.In science we took notes on the plant kingdom and its classes, and the animal kingdom and its classes.In reading, some of us read while other people worked on evaluate.Then our buddies came and we worked on a project together.Jingles for Jammie's is tomorrow, so make sure to bring in a dollar and wear your PJs tomorrow!

In math we learned about number patterns 12.3 odds and all mixed review. In social study's we learned about Jamestown. In science we learned about static electricity while we were working on buckle down then in reading we learned about understanding our book and asking questions while we are reading and in writing we wrote more about our personal narratives.

Today in math we learned the order of operation and to evaluate an expression. We did not have social studies and science. In writing we were gathering ideas for personal narratives. In reading we learned visualizing what we read. Today we also went to the Veteran's assembly. We have a cold read due November 16, a spelling contract due the 20th, tomorrow there is a kick-a-ton!!!
